Ecological Value: Although the pods are attractive fodder to most animals. the leaves are browsed but not considered an important animal fodder. wood uses. OTHER USES: The tree is used extensively as a shade or shelterbelt tree with a great tolerance of arid and harsh sites.
Medicinal Value: Bark extracts are used for chronic diarrhea, dysentery, constipation and tuberculosis. Extract of leaves is employed as a remedy for indigestion and to prevent spontaneous abortion and for gall bladder ailments and to treat both open and closed wounds. Ground seed is used for treating ulcers.
Commercial Value: Bark extracts, leaf extracts and ground seeds are used in traditional medicine are used to treat chronic diarrhea, dysentery, constipation, tuberculosis, indigestion, ulcers and to prevent spontaneous abortion.
